Welcome. My name is Sean Burns and I call this place cowl@sdf. I'm currently a graduate student at the University of Missouri-Columbia where I am pursuing a master's degree in Information Science and Learning Technologies with emphases and interests in reference librarianship, library science, and free, open source technologies.
Previously, I was a cook and chef for nearly 19 years---off and on for the first 8 years and full time for the following 11 years. I also attended Monmouth College, Monmouth, IL where I double majored in Philosophy & Religious Studies and English.
My web site's purpose is a number of things: it's a place to put various writings, a repository of files, notes for things I do not want to forget, and it fulfills a somewhat nerdy and possibly vain desire to document my work and fun. It's also where I like to play with CSS design. So if you are a regular visitor (this site has a huge audience ;), you'll notice, on occasion, drastic changes of layout and design all accomplished via CSS. There will never, I don't think, be a lot of graphics. Mostly I'll just implement various positional strategies.
